Busy Weekend

We had quite a busy weekend. My mom came down Thursday night for the weekend. Friday night we went down to Glenn's house & ate pizza & played the Wii. It was hilarious watching my mom try to ski, but she was way better than me or Aimee at the hoola hooping. We stayed up way too late playing some Redneck game and then headed home. Saturday morning we threw Aimee a bridal shower at a resturant. Some of the ladies that she works with came to the shower. She got some great gifts & we had a good time getting excited about the wedding. Saturday night we, of course, ended the weekend with a BBQ & swimming.

Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa Burney's

Last weekend the girls got to spend a couple of nights at Grandma's house without mom & dad. It is so wonderful to have them so close. We meet in the middle & have lunch/dinner at McDonalds and go our separate ways. It was a much needed break. Sometimes mom needs some time to myself so that I can give so more. Austin was here so, while the girls were gone we enjoyed big kid time. David & Austin played racquetball & I had a girls night with my friend Carrie. We ate lots of junk food & watched Twilight. We stayed up until like 1 am each night playing games but it was nice to sleep all night through with no one having to go pee :) The girls had a blast playing in the dirt all day and living by "Grandma" rules Here are some pics: Zhara using her new pink shovel

Alyssa using her new pink shovel
This next picture has kind of a "funny" story with our family. For those of you who don't know we joke about how the Burney family is a hill billy family. Last Christmas my parents had a new decoration on their table with the tags still on it. Aimee & I were making fun of them & my dad said "Hey we didn't get those at no garage sale. We bought those brand new & have the tags to prove it!" So when my mom sent me this picture I busted out laughing. They bought these shovels "brand new" and "have the tags to prove it". You might be a redneck....
I love you mom & dad!!

A Look Back In Time

Today I was looking through some pictures for a memory album that I've been "working" on for 4 years, but I came across Alyssa's 1st birthday and thought this picture was so sweet. I love my girls, the time just goes so fast I feel like I can't cherish it enough ( minus the times they are in trouble...see blog post below Ha Ha). Hope you enjoy a look back in time.

A Great Gift

My very talented friend Carrie is starting a business in aprons & I would like to share with any of my fellow bloggers that might have an interest for themselves or anyone they might know. She makes aprons for adults & children. I enjoy cooking with my girls & they love getting their little aprons down & cooking with mom. I enjoy having an apron to wipe my hands on instead of my shirt and I enjoy even more, that my girls don't get chocolate all over their shirts.
Please visit her website http://www.carrieskozykreations.blogspot.com/ to order them. You can get an adult & child apron for 25.00 or an adult for 17.50 and a child for 12.50. She will make them to order & ship them to you. These make a great gift for any woman who cooks, whether she enjoys cooking or not :) and for little girls or boys who love to spend time with their mother in the kitchen making a mess.

Night at the Zoo

Saturday night was our last night as members of the Phoenix zoo & what better way to spend it then at the zoo? It was a free member night. Every weekend in the summer they do a thing with water slides & bounce houses to help "cool" us off in the 115 degree heat. This weekend it was all free. We got to ride the train....bounced in the bounce houses....and got wet at the splash pad

It was a fun way to end our week long of just family time. Now it is time to get back to the daily grind, but it was wonderful to have so much time together.

Zhara's Spring Musical

Zhara has a spring musical a few weeks ago at her preschool (I know I'm behind sorry). It was also kindergarten graduation so they sat with their classes for about 20 min before the program started. Here she is with Jackson & Miss Fiona before the program started. They stood on risers. Zhara was on the back row. I could just see her falling off but her teachers were watching her pretty well. Towards the end she was tired & leaned on Miss Fiona most of the time. Afterwards they had cake and Zhara & Alyssa ate a piece right before lunch time :) There is a video of the kids singing the B I B L E. Zhara is on the left, top row in a red shirt.
