Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's day weekend my mom & dad came down. Glenn took pictures of the girls for my sister's website for her new business. I liked this picture of Zhara looking to serious Mother's Day we spent at Aimee's & had breakfast for lunch. It's nice to live so close to my family & we enjoy our times together
Saturday we went to Thatcher, AZ where our church had built the Gila Valley Temple. Before each temple opens they offer an open house for two weeks. During the open house anyone is allowed to tour the temple & see the inside. My mom & dad drove the 3 hour drive to come to the temple with us. The girls were so excited to be able to go inside the temple. It was a beautiful experience & I am so glad that we were able to go

Field Trips

A few months ago Alyssa went to visit the firehouse with her preschool. The girls had such a fun time. The firemen showed them their "house" and the trucks
The girls got to shoot water out of the hose

They ended the day with lunch at the park & a little play time
A few weeks ago Zhara took a field trip to the Desert Botanical Gardens. It was the hottest day of the year....go figure, and me being mother of the year left Zhara's hat on the counter at home.
Their tour guide taught them all about aguave plants
Zhara making a paintbrush out of aguave leaf
The butterfly exhibit was Zhara's favorite part....and mine because it had misters :)
Zhara & her best friends: Cheyenne & Sophie
Zhara brought her camera & she took lots of pictures of the butterflies

I love being a part of my girls "growing up". They bring such joy to my heart.

Catch Up on Events....

I'm way behind on pictures so here are some things that have went on in our lives:
David coached the young men basketball (I might have done a post on this but I'm too lazy to look) This picture cracks me up but his feet always hurt after playing basketball so here he is soaking them in the foot spa
We watched a couple of girls overnight at their house & here is Alyssa dressed up
Our newly organized ward's first activity. We had a picnic at a local park & our friends the Krainocks joined us for some chicken & fun
The girls played in the water even though it was a bit chilly for AZ
They had a bounce house & then we did some racing with our feet tied together. I did it with the kids & they beat me every time

Zhara got Student of the Week last Friday. I was so proud of her. We started the year out in the principals office & ended it with being Student of the week. There are usually 2 or 3 students picked each week out of almost 200 kids.

The school had their first annual Field Day. It was a bit warm in May....but they had a good time playing games

Last night our Young Women had a spaghetti dinner fundraiser. It took a lot of work but it was fun. I have enjoyed being with these girls.
Our girls were so excited that they had "kid" tables for them to sit at. We had white paper over the tables & crayons for them to draw with.

Utah Trip

We took a trip to Utah the last weekend in April to visit David's family & to see our good friend, the Roberts. They have family in Utah & we were going to go to Utah for Easter but waited so that we could be in town with our friends. The girls were so excited to see Evan & Sydney. The last time we got together was last July. The girls stayed up until after midnight to wait for the Roberts. They started the night out with a camp out in the movie room at David's brother's house. Saturday we had a BBQ with David's family & the Roberts. Evan & Zhara played ladder ball with Grandma

Zhara climbed the tree & enjoyed looking at the neighbors garden

Sydney, Alyssa & Megan

Evan & Zhara....still played just like they did when they were 3

David & Brett....best buds for life ;)

Me & Leslie....we couldn't hug enough!

The Roberts left Saturday to go stay with Leslie's family & the girls loved every minute they spent with Bryce. He is so good with the girls.

Bryce is 13 but he is so great. He watched movies with the girls, played with them outside & inside. Here they are coloring together. Thanks Bryce for being such a great cousin!!!

Monday we celebrated Debbie's birthday by taking a walk by the river. I had a picture of Jeff throwing rocks with the girls but it didn't load

We celebrated Debbie with lots of taco's. We love you!!!We ended our trip with a visit to the Xango bar. David's family is now drinking a juice called Xango. My mother in law has been sick for a very long time & no dr could figure out what is wrong with her. She couldn't eat, had no energy & it was just sad to see her last time we were in Utah. She has been drinking Xango, a juice from the Mangosteen fruit & she was eating taco's with us & dancing at the park with the girls. A 180 from the last time we saw her, so we have been trying it to see if it will help David & Zhara with their intestinal problems. So here we are drinking the juice at the Xango bar.

We spent the night with our friends the Bee's. The girls loved seeing their friends & we enjoyed playing Ticket to Ride. It's always fun to see family & friends. Thanks everyone for a great time!!

March of Dimes

Farmers is a big supporter of March of Dimes & raises a lot of money each year for this charity. We have enjoyed being a part of it for the past 6 years & have enjoyed walking in the March of Dimes walk while we have lived in Scottsdale. This year my friend Carrie & my mom came & walked with us. It was 3 miles. Thanks to all of you that supported us. Alyssa waiting for the walk to begin
Zhara had to have a little milk
Let the walk begin.
We finished
At the end the have food, bounce houses & all kind of different things to do. The girls jumped while I got a free 10 minute massage

This walk always brings lots of tears to my eyes. We see many families who walk for children they have lost & lots of families cheering us on with pictures of their children that beat the odds....thanks to the money from March of Dimes. There are no words to say what being a part of this does for my heart. I look forward to next year.
