Family Trip Day One

The morning of October 20th...like around 2 am we headed out to California to meet up with our friends the Roberts & take the girls to the beach & Disneyland. We got to San Diego about 8 and walked the beach. It was a bit chilly for us Arizonians but we still enjoyed the morning walk on the beach. The ocean is always beautiful and it was a great way to spend my birthday.

We saw snails on the sidewalk & enjoyed watching them "race"
We found crabs
and a dead eel
We kept working our way down the coast as we made our way to LA. I was "large and in charge of shoes" because I am a sissy when it comes to cold water
The girls & David went to "wade" in the water.....we decided we weren't going to "play" in the water because we had a day set aside for the beach
Well we see how that turned out..............

Totally soaked & freezing.
We made a stop at the beautiful San Diego temple with our wet clothes & all. This is the temple that Zhara wants to be married in someday. The picture that shows how much of a castle it is apparently didn't download. On the way to L.A. the girls were so tired
After checking into our hotel & getting warm we headed to David's Aunt Patti's house. Uncle Stan loves trains & is setting up this amazing train set in the backyard
Here is Aunt Patty trying to hide from the camera
David's wonderful Aunts threw me a birthday party with my favorite cake....german chocolate!
Happy birthday to me! It was a great day & it was so great to start a family vacation & enjoy each other after a very very stressful summer.
