Valentine's is a very big thing at our house. David makes it special for all his girls. He always does a big scavenger hunt in the morning before they start their day and then ends it with a dinner of steak and shrimp. This year, however, David was in LA for a training. The girls were sad thinking that there wouldn't be a scavenger hunt but before David left on Sunday he hid everything and created the scavenger hunt they would do on Thursday morning. The girls were so excited when the woke up and had a scavenger hunt. It was so fun and there were gifts for everyone.
The saddest part of all was that David wasn't going to be home for Valentine's day and that we would have to celebrate on Saturday instead of the actual Vday....or so they thought. David's training class was ending on Valentine's day and he got a flight that night and we were going to surprise the girls. Alyssa was incredibly sick. She has a fever of 103 and was so dizzy she couldn't walk and had missed school but I told the girls that we needed to go to the airport and pick up someone from church. Zhara kept asking me who it was and I just kept saying just someone from church. When we got there Lys said "dad?" while Zhara was reading a book and then he opened the hatch of the van and Lys said louder "dad!" and Zhara screamed and lept over the back seat and just started crying. It was the greatest surprise!! We stopped at the store and bought the steak and shrimp to continue a wonderful Valentine tradition. How blessed these girls are to have a father who cherishes each one of them and how thankful I am for a husband who makes me feel loved and special every day of our marriage but
I always enjoy how he makes Valentines wonderful.
