Time for a trip to CA

We surprised the girls with a trip to CA. We told them Friday that we were going to head up towards Grandma's house (which was true we head in that direction before we turn to CA). Alyssa was disappointed because she had to miss a birthday party but I promised her it would be worth it. Like normal we loaded the kids up at about 2 am and hit the road. When they woke up they kept asking where we were and we kept telling them in the middle of somewhere. Finally when they saw the ocean they figured it out. We had fun playing at Lego Land all day Saturday

We finally caught Charlotte smiling...this trip was more fun for here since she is walking

Zhara was not happy about waiting for 15 minutes to ride this ride but it's one of the few that Haleigh can ride so she put on a grin....for the camera at least

Sunday we went to church and then spent the afternoon at the beach. Charlotte was LOVING the sand...and being able to walk made it so much more fun.

Charlotte kept trying to destroy it so we distracted her with lid and straw...worked pretty well

Charlotte was covered from head to toe in sand so we stripped her down and washed her off... she was NOT happy . After the wash down we headed back home. As usual it was a wonderful time.
